In the middle of a barren wasteland, a small town goes through the motions as if nothing’s changed. Lolly has school, a part time job, a senile grandmother that needs looking after. But everything has changed, and Lolly’s always one storm away from facing that.

I decided to read this story because the author wrote Children of Icarus, a book that I read some time ago and absolutely loved.

The Weather is a short story about Lolly, a teenager that works in a convenience store.

The plot starts normally, Lolly has some customers and goes home. The next day there’s a storm but not like the ones we’re used to.

I liked this story. It was mysterious but I felt like it lacked details. It was vague and felt like a part of a bigger story. It left me wanting more plot. The concept was promising and the world was intriguing but because it was so vague, I couldn’t fully enjoy this.
